David has over 25 years’ experience in the property sector, both developing and as a landlord. David started with one property and developed both significant personal and corporate portfolios with developments in excess of £500 million of both residential and commercial property. At the height of ownership, David was one of the largest private landlords in the country. Following retirement from the property sector, David partnered with SNR Dentons and subsequently the Gunvor Group as a commodity advisor in the precious metals industry.

Jake has over 10 years experience in the property sector, consisting of portfolio management, deal structuring & private finance. Jake has more recently been involved in the mining sector, working with central banks and global commodity houses to establish and arrange finance for mining projects and commodity supply chains. Jake also has significant experience in the grading of rough diamonds, setup of diamond purchasing offices, and currently acts in an advisory capacity for an american listed mining company. On a personal level, Jake is a fully qualified Pilot holding an EASA license, as well as a martial arts instructor.

Following his completion of further education in the UK, Curtis followed in the family footsteps of operating in the real estate & mining sectors. Over recent years, Curtis has gained significant experience in property acquisition and capital raising, alluvial gold mine setup, and general supply chain management for mining and trading of gold. Curtis is also the company's in-house compliance officer, and performs duties in relation to the company's governance, regulatory and legal obligations. On a personal basis, Curtis is a keen martial artist practicing Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

John is the investor relations manager at 79th Luxury Living Limited, and manages the company administration, communicates with our strategic partners, and maintains relationships with the company’s investor base. John has worked in accountancy for over seven years, and has significant experience in bookkeeping, VAT and payroll, and has also headed up areas of business development by on-boarding and managing clients. John is also trained in compliance, and exercises procedures on a regular basis to ensure the company’s compliance with both legal and regulatory framework.

Phil has 48 years’ experience as an accountant, being a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountants, a Fellow of the Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Faculty of Taxation and Advisors and has an accountancy practice in Southport. Phil has had a long standing relationship with the directors and personally has experience of being a landlord and developing property on a national basis.

Dr Simon Donoghue BSc (Hons) & PhD is a strategic numbers man, with corporate, strategic and property investment experience, he brings a wealth of international experience to the team. He has a knowledge of commercial and regulatory issues, in addition to sound financial knowledge. He has been advisor to a number of companies and has successfully implemented and achieved long and short-term financial objectives. He is adept at analysing market conditions and developing new business opportunities, coordinating teams of professionals, including accountants, lawyers and international local market experts.

Joined the Civil Service in 1975 following a short career in retail management. An experienced tax professional who, having trained as a criminal and civil investigator, subsequently held a wide range of senior posts throughout his Civil Service career including managing operational delivery, strategy development and project/programme management. He has wide experience in a variety of roles tackling the largest and more complex fraud and avoidance risks by corporates, High Net Worth Individuals, offshore entities and organised criminal gangs using a range of bespoke criminal, civil and insolvency powers. 2001 – 2004 Deputy Director Special Compliance Office
Member of the senior management team with national lead responsibilities for HR, IT, Finance and criminal internal governance investigations. 2004 – 2006 Project Director
Project lead for the merger of the law enforcement capability of the former Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise Departments following the creation of Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise. This strategic redeployment extended to approximately 10,000 criminal investigators across the UK and overseas in addition to the allocation and use of complex and sophisticated sensitive assets with linkage to the creation of the new Home Office Serious Organised Crime Agency. 2006 – 2008 Director Specialist Compliance Teams
Overall responsibility for approximately 1,200 investigators providing an operational compliance response to National Minimum Wage, gangmaster and contrived insolvency abuses using a range of innovative civil and criminal powers. 2008 – 2011 Director of Operations Specialist Investigations From 2009 led HMRC’s compliance response to tackling offshore tax evasion and avoidance including the negotiation of the Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility and similar agreements with the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey and Switzerland. These initiatives recovered approximately £3.5bn in unpaid duties to the Exchequer and regularised assets in the region of £15bn. Worked closely with HM Treasury, Home Office and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to develop the UK’s cross government strategy on global tax transparency including initiatives such as the Automatic Exchange of information through the Common Reporting Standard and public/central registers of beneficial share ownership accessible to law enforcement agencies. 2012 – 2015 Senior Director Specialist Investigations
Accountable for the deployment and delivery of approximately 3,000 Investigation specialists, Technicians, Accountants and Insolvency experts based throughout the UK whose primary function was to tackle evasion and avoidance non-compliance by corporates, individuals and organised criminal gangs UK based and overseas. Approximately 50,000 interventions undertaken producing an annual yield £3-£4bn. Additionally, a senior member of HMRC’s governance and assurance groups including the Tax Dispute Resolution Board and the Alternative Disputes Resolution Board together with personalaccountability for the most complex and sensitive departmental compliance interventions. Also led on the development of HMRC’s strategy to tackle scheme promoters and users of aggressive tax avoidance. Andy’s achievements were recognised in the Queen’s 2011 New YearsHonours list when he was awarded a CBE. Andy retired from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs on 31 October 2015 after more than 40 years’ public service. He is now an independent tax consultant advising overseas governments and financial intermediaries on global tax compliance developments. In addition, He provides strategic compliance solutions to a portfolio of UK legal firms advising on client based criminal and civil tax matters.

Located in Singapore from 2013 until 2020 he has been responsible for developing marketing teams to support multi million dollar projects. Earlier in his career Liam developed his project management skills and detail oriented thinking as a Mechanical Design Engineer. A member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Liam brings a logical approach to everything work related and has a passion for automation technologies and customer experience. Outside the office Liam spends his free time training Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and mountain biking.

The Brand & Strategy Consultant for the Group, Sonali studied with the Chartered Institute of Bankers and attained membership in 1998, before gaining Financial Planning Certificates 1, 2, & 3, and Diplomas in Digital Marketing & Social Media. Sonali spent ten years with Bank of Scotland in a variety of marketing and communications roles before moving to DLF for 6 years to market luxury projects in Delhi, Goa, and Kasauli. With over 20 years experience, she was welcomed on board to 79th Group in 2020 to develop brand and marketing strategies that have been crucial to our successful growth. Sonali also manages all aspects of the Group’s external communication, public relations, and internal marketing activities, and works closely with the Board on the future strategy for the Groups businesses.

Gavin has over 15 years in the financial services industry beginning his career at a FTSE250 investment bank where he practiced in trust and estate planning for high-net worth individuals and charities in the UK. After spending a year out to travel around Asia and Australia, Gavin settled in Singapore where he was employed by the region’s largest expatriate financial advisory firm providing offshore investment solutions to HNW’s. With 7 successful years in Singapore, Gavin departed for the UAE continuing to work in the offshore sector having been appointed as the Vice President of Business Development for one of the UK’s ‘big four’ banks. Since joining The 79th Group in 2019, Gavin has utilised his global experience to assist with capital raising for several company projects and is also responsible for the set-up of our Japan office. Outside of his working-life, Gavin enjoys spending time with his young family and is also a keen golfer.

Lauren enjoys living a healthy lifestyle and keeping active in the gym. She also spends her spare time socialising with friends and loved ones and is a passionate culinarian.

I brought over 6 years of extensive administrative experience to the table with expertise in scheduling and correspondence. ‘In the past, I thought I’d become an engineer as I’ve been too focused on numbers, equations, and analytics. But then when I joined the Financial and Investment Industry my path has changed. As I’m always ready for a new challenge, my career path is proof since I’ve popped around in administrative and operations roles that taught me where I am now. Previously working in a multinational pharmaceutical company and closely working with the Finance and Corporate division headquartered in Germany. She has been involved in dealing with Finance in the Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA). She worked also as an advertising representative and involved in media implementation and moved to the Accounting division in the Creative Advertising Agency after a year of experience in the industry. Grace earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Management. As her starter, she worked for a Japanese manufacturing company based in the Philippines under the Cost and Inventory Division.

After ten years experience in Europe as a business development manager, and country manager for Korean and Japanese trading companies, Angelo moved to Tokyo in 2011 to manage and develop a franchise business, expanding the operations in Hong Kong and California becoming CEO of the Japanese subsidiary. Angelo holds a MSc in Business Administration and speaks English and Japanese.

He has attained considerable experience in business development, project management, communication and marketing. Since graduating he has worked in the UK, Australia, across Asia, and is now Business Development Manager in our Tokyo office. Outside of work, Chris enjoys travelling and keeping fit, either at the gym, running or sports.
